Lincoln Mitchell is a political analyst, pundit and writer based in New York City and San Francisco and teaches in the political science department and School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University. He has written for CNN Opinion, NBC News, the San Francisco Examiner and numerous other publications. Lincoln was the national political correspondent for The New York Observer from 2014-2016. He has also written eight books on topics ranging from democratic development in the former Soviet Union to urban politics in the United States to baseball. In addition, Lincoln has worked on political development isseus in dozens of countries and as a political consultant advising and managing domestic political campaigns. Lincoln earned his Ph.D. at Columbia University and his BA at UC Santa Cruz.
